Harry Linford – Managing director

Harry has been in the construction industry since leaving school and completing his apprenticeship with his father’s groundworks company. With a keen passion for the trade he was soon responsible for running small gangs and sites before his father retired due to health reasons in 2007. Harry went on to work for various regional companies in the following years holding numerous roles from plant operator to site foreman. During this time Harry gained a wealth of experience working on a diverse range of projects including new build residential, flood defence schemes, highway works, commercial new build, earthworks and demolition. 

Gary Preston – Contracts manager

Gary has been in construction all his life starting out as a groundworks apprentice before going on to set up and operate his own company for over 20 years. Following this he then decided to return to management and has held a contracts manager role for several groundworks companies over the last 8 years. Gary has over 40 years of construction experience and his knowledge within the sector is a valuable asset to Linford civil engineering.

Mark Gurbis – Commercial manager

Mark has over 20 years quantity surveying and estimating experience having spent the majority of his career working for main contractors within the industry including Wates and Mears. Mark is responsible for overseeing commercial operations within the business including estimating, contract valuations, variations and contractor disputes. Mark brings valuable experience and contractual understanding meaning disputes can be easily resolved as well as value engineering solutions offered to our clients at an early stage.

Neil Braithwaite – Head Buyer

Neil has over 25 years buying experience for builder’s merchants holding roles including branch manager and branch director. His knowledge in this department is crucial in ensuring we get the best prices on materials as well as getting what we need on site when required meaning we can deliver our services to our clients as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. 

Sian Pickering – Office manager

Our office manager Sian has over 15 years admin and management experience having previously worked as a manager for the NHS. Sian is responsible for overseeing the company’s admin and HR ensuring smooth running of the organisation behind the scenes.
